Jesse Davis – Head Coach/GM

Jesse Davis, originally from Detroit MI area, has more than 16 years as a coach or GM. Prior to being named as Head Coach of the MN Iron Rangers, he was the Head Coach/GM of the Breckenridge Bucks RMJHL. Davis spent 5 seasons in the USHL, held Assistant Coach/Director of Player Personnel positions with the Bloomington Thunder and Fargo Force. While in the USHL Davis built some fabulous teams including a Western Division Championship team in Fargo that went to the Clark Cup Finals in 2012. Davis has also had a chance to coach over 30 NHL draft picks and over 70 NCAA DI college committed players.

Before that Davis worked with several NAHL teams; Asst. Coach/Asst GM Texas Tornado, which won a Robertson Cup Championship, GM Motor City Machine and the Asst. Coach/Head Scout Toledo IceDiggers. Davis’ extensive coaching resume also includes stints with the Motor City Chiefs CSHL, Chicago Fury Midget AAA, Detroit Belle Tire Midget AAA, Detroit Little Caesars Midget AAA, Detroit Compuware Midget AAA, & Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep HS.

Davis is also the owner of Hockey Smart LLC, which is involved with hockey schools, camps, clinics, and tournament teams all over the US including USA Hockey Development camps. Hockey Smart is now in its 11th year and is also part of Rocky Mountain Hockey Schools and European Tours.

Davis played youth hockey with the St. Clair Shores Hockey Assoc. and was drafted to the Michigan Nationals of the NAJHL in 1993; then was traded to the Detroit Freeze of the NAHL where he finished his junior career in 1995. Davis played some minor pro hockey with stops in the COHL, UHL, ECHL, CHL, SPHL and GCHL.

Todd Kreibich – Assistant Coach

Todd played collegiate hockey for a year with Gustavus Adolphus, and 3 years with Bemidji State University, ending with a DII National Championship. Todd has Junior hockey experience, and 4 years of Amateur hockey in Warroad. He brings over 20 years of coaching experience to our staff, including as a coach at the Bemidji International Hockey school, as previous Head Coach in the Eveleth-Gilbert school district, and since 2011 as Assistant Coach with the Virginia high school. Todd has also operated goaltending camps. 

Jim “Robby” Robinson – Assistant Coach


Jim “Robby” Robinson has also been added to the Rangers roster as an Assistant Coach.  With over 25 years of coaching (both as Head Coach and Assistant) under his belt within the youth and high school programs at several area programs, he will bring his coaching experience to our bench as well.


Bob Nielsen, MN Scout

Owned and managed the Minnesota Owls Tier III for approximately four years.
Acted at General Manager of  Team Universal Players.  Competed in a world junior tournament in Tampere, Finland with teams from Russia, Finland, Sweden and Canada.   Thirteen NHL draft picks participated in the tournament.
1999-2013  Scouted for various teams, including:  the Bowmansville Eagles of the OPJHL, the Central Texas Blackhawks of the AWHL  and NAHL, the Santa Fe Roadrunners of the NAHL, Springfield Junior Blues of the NAHL, the Owatonna Express of the NAHL, and the Fresno Monsters of the NAHL.
